Things hotting up in The Global Ford Ranger Challenge

Coinciding with the launch of the new Ford Ranger, the South African leg of The Global Ford Ranger Challenge is fast reaching a climax. Up for grabs is the grand prize of a Ford Ranger 3.2 XLT Double Cab 4×2 LVC Manual valued at R380 000, and by 16 October the last of the five finalists in the competition will have been selected and the public voting process to choose the winner will get under way.

The Challenge is an online promotion of the new Ford Ranger that gives South Africans the chance to win one by testing the vehicle in extremely tough conditions. Contestants enter by suggesting what they believe to be one of the ultimate challenges to subject the Ranger to and five lucky entrants go through to a final round in which they get the opportunity to get behind the wheel and to put the truck to the test for real.

Each of the finalists will be given a new Ford Ranger for 10 days during which they will be videoed while carrying out the challenge they suggested when submitting their entry. The footage will be posted on www.ford.org.za and the public will be invited to register as voters and to then give each of the clips their thumbs up or thumbs down.

The Challenge winner will be the finalist who gets the most thumbs up and will receive his (or her) prize at a gala function towards the end of November.

The all-new Ford Ranger is currently being exhibited at the Johannesburg International Motor Show at Nasrec (ends 16 October).
